YAMA yama
一枚のステンレス板を折り曲げて製作したカードスタンドです。白銀比は、日本人が美しいと感じる比率として古くから用いられています。 白銀比は、日本人が美しいと感じる比率として古くから用いられています。「なぜ白銀比は美しいのか」という問いを立て、白銀比の美しい性質を活用した道具をデザインすることを試みました。 「白銀比の短辺を一辺とする正方形の対角線と、その白銀比の長辺が同じ長さ」という性質を活用して折り曲げを行うことで、手前に「直角二等辺三角形」、奥に「その直角二等辺三角形の底辺を等辺とする二等辺三角形」ができる規律の取れたデザインのカードスタンドとなりました。 規律の取れた二つの三角形が連なる様子から、「YAMA yama」と名付けました。
YAMA Yama is a card stand manufactured by folding a single stainless-steel plate.Its fabrication employs the silver ratio, which has been used for a long time in Japan and is considered to be pleasant by Japanese people. By asking myself the question,Why is the silver ratio so beautiful?, I tried to design a tool that incorporated these properties.By folding a single stainless-steel plate according to the silver ratio, I was able to create a card stand that features two isosceles triangles.The smaller isosceles right triangle in the foreground shares a base equal in length with the larger isosceles triangle in the background, producing a well-balanced design which I have named “YAMA Yama".
